Hindsight is 20/20, but if you’re an entrepreneur just starting out (or starting out on a new venture), learn lessons the easy way by checking out the stumbles made by those before you! Alphr asked six entrepreneurs, myself included, what we wish we’d known before starting out. My advice was to stop worrying so much and get to testing—otherwise, you’re just treading water. Actually getting a product to market is what matters to a startup, because it’s very easy to sit and tweak a product until you think it’s “perfect.” However, the big risk and reward comes with getting that product out there so it can get tested, you can get feedback, and it can be improved.

There are many times I’ve thought of ideas and rolled them around in my head endlessly, looking at every potential outcome. This is necessary to a certain degree, but if you do it too long you’re just wasting time. Learning balance is key for all types of success, including entrepreneurial.

Other tips include focusing a little more on your team than the product (rather than the other way around), and to never forget the importance of networking.
